Lokon volcano is a must see when you're in Manado, especially when you have a wonderful guide - ours is Jotje. Picking us up at 5.30am we managed to hike to the crater before it got too busy or hot! The view was definitely worth the small hike. Jotje was very cautious as it is an active volcano, hence reminding us not to linger for too long.

Woloan is located in the district of Minahasa, is a pretty village surrounded by Mt. Mahawu, Mt. Masarang and the very active Lokon volcano. The weather is cool and can become pretty cold at night. Along the main street of Woloan is a display of various houses that visitors can enter and admire and even order directly from whome in charge.

Jan 2023 • Family. Hiking to the summit of lokon volcano is quite tempting to do especially when you stay at gardenia country inn. As one of active volcano in north sulawesi lokon stands 1580 above sea level. As a lokal guide I am so thankfull to live in this neigborhood. Read more.

Lokon is a twin volcano together with Empung Mountain and is located close to the pleasantly cool town of Tomohon city, which is surrounded by agricultural land.
