The Aloe Variegata (Gonialoe variegata) plant is one of the most distinct and well-known of the aloe plants. It is part of the subfamily Asphodelaceae, which includes a wide range of succulents. Aloe variegata is a hardy succulent and is a relative of most other aloe plants. It also goes by the names of Tiger aloe and Partridge-Breasted Tiger aloe. In contrast to a lot of other aloe plants, Tiger aloes do not have spikes on their leaves. Additionally, their leaves are more thick and triangular shaped whereas most aloes have flat leaves.

Cultivation. Grow indoors in a container of cacti potting compost, or loam-based potting compost with added horitcultural grit. Water moderately when in growth, very sparingly when dormant in winter.
