Paul Niedermeyer - Posted on September 11, 2012 Just can't get enough of those Aussie utes…here's a 1957 Mainline Utility that was shot by Hugo90 in 1974 on the streets of Melbourne. I've never even seen a picture of this vintage; awesome. White with red rims too. I'd take one in a heartbeat.

Unfortunately there's only one picture in the ad for this unusual (in the US) 1958 Ford Mainline "Ute", originally from Australia. It's currently found in City of Orange, California and is advertised here on craigslist for $1,999. I found this factory brochure image on macsmotorcitygarage.com.

A late 1950's Ford Mainline ute. Unique to Australia, this was a utility truck version of the Customline sedan, and very popular in its day - 1953 to 1959. Couldn't make out the vintage of this one, but based on the OHV engine, I'd guess it's either a '56 / '57 model, or a "Star" model ('58 - '59). This 'un's sitting in a front yard in Preston, awaiting a full resto / street rod mod.
